What is community solar?
Solar energy without a solar panel
Large-scale solar farms are built in your state and connected to the same grid your utility uses. Residents can subscribe to a portion of that farm's output — and receive the value of that electricity as a credit directly on their utility bill each month.
These programs are run with your utility's direct involvement. They are reviewed, approved, and administered through your existing utility account. Nothing changes about how you receive electricity.

Real experiences from real subscribers
“The representative explained how community solar farms work and how we essentially save money for subscribing to our nearest solar farm. It's pretty cool and I wish more people knew about this initiative. Easy sign up, and a clean conscience about going a little greener!”
— Hannah
“Truly the easiest way to impact the world by supporting renewable energy through opting into a local solar farm and saving money on my utility bill. Solar panels aren't an option for me since I'm in a condo building, so after learning about how community solar worked, it was an easy decision.”
— Kene
“The representative explained the program clearly, answered all questions completely and concisely, walked us through the set-up process, and did all in an extremely professional manner. We have saved each month since making the switch.”
— Matt
Priority enrollment
SNAP, Medicaid & income-qualified households
Many community solar programs reserve capacity — and offer higher discount rates — for households already receiving means-tested benefits. If you receive SNAP, Medicaid, or qualify under your state's low-income utility guidelines, you may be eligible for priority placement.
