Overview

EnergyCredit Program is an independent enrollment support service that connects residential customers with utility-partnered community solar programs. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.

What We Collect

We collect only the information needed to process your solar enrollment request. Depending on which form you submit, this may include:

  • Name and email address — to identify your submission and follow up with you
  • ZIP code — to confirm which programs are available in your area
  • Utility provider — to match your account with the correct solar program
  • Income-qualified status — an optional checkbox indicating whether you participate in SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Section 8, LIHEAP, or a similar benefit program
  • Utility bill files — PDF or image files you upload via the Submit Bill form, used to verify your account and submit your enrollment application
  • Optional notes — any additional context you choose to provide
  • Browser user agent — recorded automatically with each submission for spam prevention and debugging

We do not collect payment information, Social Security numbers, or full utility account numbers.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used exclusively to process your solar enrollment. Specifically:

  • To determine which open community solar programs are available to you
  • To submit your enrollment application to the appropriate solar program on your behalf
  • To follow up with you about the status of your enrollment
  • To maintain records of submitted applications for operational purposes

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your enrollment request.

Who We Share It With

We share your information only as necessary to complete your enrollment. Our current solar program partners are:

  • Ampion — serving NY and MD/DC subscribers
  • Arcadia — serving NY and DE/Eastern Shore subscribers
  • Power Market — serving MN subscribers

Your information is passed only to the partner that administers the program you are enrolling in. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

Cookies & Tracking

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking on this site. No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar tools are installed. The only cookie this site sets is a short-lived session cookie used exclusively for the site operator admin area — it is never set on visitor-facing pages and does not track your browsing.

Data Storage & Security

Form submissions and uploaded files are stored in a secured, hosted database provided by Neon (serverless PostgreSQL). Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Data Retention

We retain submission records for as long as necessary to complete your enrollment and resolve any related questions. If your application is declined or you request deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems upon request. Utility bill files are used solely for enrollment purposes and are not retained beyond what is operationally necessary.

Your Rights

You may contact us at any time to:

  • Request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw from the enrollment process at any time

Residents of states with specific data privacy laws (including New York, Maryland, Delaware, and Minnesota) may have additional rights under applicable state law.
